CM Jagan is going to offer Pattu Vastralu to Goddess Kanaka Durga at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam at Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada. As part of the tradition, CM is going to present the Silk Vastrams to the Goddess tomorrow afternoon on the eve of auspicious Moola Nakshatra Day (October 21, 2020), fifth day of the nine-day Navaratri festival. Goddess Durga turns Sri Saraswati Devi tomorrow. She will be decorated in Saraswati Devi avatar and worshipped by the devotees.
In the wake of CM’s visit to the temple, special arrangements have been made. Security has been tightened. Officials are monitoring the arrangements. District Collector Imtiaz and City’s Police Commissioner B Sreenivasulu and other officials have visited the Durga temple yesterday and looked after the arrangements for the CM’s visit.
It can be noted that CM Jagan had earlier offered Pattu Vastralu to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala at annual Brahmotsavam during which he was seen in Panche Kattu. Jagan’s visit and the declaration at Tirumala turned highly controversial leading to a war of words between the leaders of the ruling party and opposition parties.
