The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has announced its decision to boycott the upcoming MLC (Member of Legislative Council) elections for graduates. The party members addressed the media today, citing the undemocratic practices of the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh as the reason.
Speaking with the media, ex-minister Perni Nani predicted that the elections for the graduate constituencies in Krishna, Guntur, and the combined Godavari districts would not be conducted fairly. Nani accused the coalition government of compromising peace and security and alleged that YSRCP workers were being harassed.
Perni Nani further claimed that despite numerous violations by TDP leaders, the police were unable to take any action. Due to these conditions, he confirmed that the YSRCP would be boycotting the MLC elections.
During the press meet, Perni Nani is accompanied by Ambati Rambabu and other YSRCP leaders.
