After BR Naidu took over as the Chairman of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD), he brought in many rules and regulations. One major sensible and appreciable move is to ban making political statements in the premises of the temple.
However, BRS leader and ex-minister Srinivas Goud violated this the other day and made controversial comments that caught everyone’s attention. But BR Naidu took to his X profile and reacted to the issue. He said they they won’t tolerate anyone making political statements in the temple premises.
“Anyone who makes political comments on the temple premises that disrupts the peace of Tirumala will not be tolerated. Tirumala is a holy place. This is not a political platform. We have warned in the past that action will be taken against anyone who uses Tirumala as a political platform. We discussed this issue as a special agenda in the first meeting of our governing body and decided that we should not back down in protecting the sanctity of Tirumala. No matter how many people make political comments on Tirumala hill, we will not ignore them. We are taking a serious view of a leader from Telangana making political comments at the Tirumala venue. We are ordering action against him,” he tweeted.
Earlier, Srinivas Gowd said, “Tirumala is a place of worship for the entire Hindu community. We, the people of Telangana, have been visiting the shrine for a long time, and it is a common tradition for us to take part in the head tonsure practice here. However, in recent days, we have observed that there is partiality against Telangana people, politicians, and businessmen. Telangana people are not being treated well in Tirumala.”
