Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jithender has clarified the stance of the police regarding the controversial arrest of Icon Star Allu Arjun in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident. Amid allegations that law enforcement officials are unfairly targeting the actor, the DGP issued a clarity on the same.
Speaking at an event, the DGP expressed regret over the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre.
“Whatever happened at Sandhya Theatre is unfortunate. We are not against Allu Arjun or any individual. We have proceeded as per the law. The safety of citizens always comes first, and marketing a film cannot be prioritized over the life of a citizen. He may be a film star but he should also understand the ground reality” he stated.
This statement follows a series of events that have fueled tensions, including comments by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in the Assembly that prompted Allu Arjun to hold a press conference defending his actions. The controversy has also sparked outrage among the actor’s fans, many of whom have criticized the government and the CM on social media platforms.
On the other hand, DGP also opened up on the case related to Mohan Babu. “Whatever issue they have, it is their family matter. They have to solve it themselves. We have given strict instructions to them. However, we filed a case against Mohan Babu for attacking the journalist. We will proceed as per the law,” he stated, answering to question about Mohan Babu’s arrest.
