Russian President Putin To Quit Amid Health Concerns

Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to step down from the post amid his health concerns. According to the Russian media, Putin is said to be suffering from Parkinson’s disease and his family has been pushing him to quit his President job.

Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination and Putin has been showing signs of weakness in his hands, struggling to hold pens and constantly moving his legs.

A recent footage of Putin has caught everyone’s attention as the Russian President’s legs looked to be in constant motion. As the disease progresses, Putin may have difficulty walking and talking.

The 68 year old has been ruling the country for the last 20 years. He was also the Prime Minister of Russia from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2008 to 2012.

Strengthening the resignation reports, Putin is pushing hard to pass a legislation to make him a senator-for-life. Puti also said to be thoughts to groom his successor and for this he would soon appoint a Prime Minister for the country and he would eventually take over the President post. Most probably by January 2021, Putin is expected to step down from the President post and by then he would choose a new candidate of his choice.

Putin is survived by his 37 year girlfriend Alina Kabaeva and they have two daughters. Recently one of Putin’s daughters had taken the Covid-19 vaccine which was developed in Russia.
