The government of Andhra Pradesh is clearly thinking beyond just the Super Six poll promises. The primary emphasis is being placed on social infrastructure development, investment opportunities, betterment of roads and drainages, and much more.
In one such primary addressal, the government has started to work extensively on bettering the condition of the roads in the state. This was a much bigger task than initially anticipated as the previous Jagan government took a very lethargic approach and the vast majority of the roads across the state exhibited inhabitable conditions.
In particular, there was this viral picture of a muddy road in Tapeswaram which looked like a fourth world road in a forest region. Same was the case with the Karugallu road in Amaravati as well. It was loaded with potholes that made commuting a living hell from the past five years.
However, with the onset of the NDA government chief minister Chandrababu, who always exhibits traits of a social engineer started to focus on the roadway conditions.
The government collected every grievance from the people across the state and immediately started on the recarpeting and repairing process. With adequate financial allocations and contracts, the main roadways were all repaired on priority basis.
Even the near impossible Tapeswaram road and the pothole-filled Amaravati roads were repaired in the process.
Even at large, the general consensus amongst the public is that roads, in general have vastly improved at a larger proportion. Notably, even the Naidupeta road that was in horrendous condition was finally repaired by the new government.
After having witnessed the worst possible road conditions between 2019 to 24, Andhra Pradesh is now healing with the road repair works commissioned by the new government. Though few of the Super Six Programmes like Free Bus to women is not yet implemented, the repair of roads made the public satisfied and give more time for the government to implement the pending promises.
Chief minister Chandrababu made it a point to resurrect and recarpet the vast majority of these roads by the time of Sankranthi and somehow miraculously he made it all happen.
Usually, back in the day, when AP residents used to come to AP for Sankranthi, they used to complain about the poor roads in their area. Social media was often filled with these complaints. But for a change, this Sankranthi was a rather smooth one with very little complaint about the roadway facilities. This in itself is a remarkable accomplishment for Babu and his government.
The issue with Jagan was that he was solely focused on his Navaratnalu and left development and social infrastructure to air. But a calculated Chandrababu is a clever operator and he is getting things done on both counts – super roads and also super six. This is the kind of collective and progressive approach that Andhra Pradesh missed in the last five years.
