Copy Mukt Abhiyaan! Xerox Shops Near Exam Centers To Be Closed

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is taking serious measures towards ensuring fair assessment across schools through its ‘Copy Mukt Abhiyaan’ initiative.

The MSBSHSE released a set of measures that will be implemented in the 2025 Board exams for SSC and HSC. The 2025 Maharashtra Class 10 board exams were held from February 21 to March 17.

Here is the list of new measures introduced in ‘Copy Mukt Abhiyaan’ and the one with ‘Xerox centres’ has hit the headlines. The Xerox centers usually get busy with students getting their ‘copies’ for the exam and now the Maharashtra education board is leaving no chance for the copy masters. Check more measures here:

• Surveillance will be increased at sensitive exam centers with the help of drone cameras.
• The district administration will be responsible for ensuring that all required facilities at the exam center are in place a day before the exam.
• Video surveillance outside the exam centers to monitor the process.
• Special teams consisting of mobile and stationary inspection units will be placed at all exam centers with the help of government officials and staff across the districts.
• Facial recognition systems will be implemented to verify the identities of exam supervisors, invigilators, and other exam staff.
• The Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act, 1982, will be imposed and any malpractice will lead to legal action like filing of non-bailable offenses.
• Xerox centers within a 500-meter radius of the exam center will remain closed.
• Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code will be implemented near the exam centers.
