Chandrababu Naidu and Daggubati Venkateswara Rao’s family feud dates back to three decades. Both being sons-in-law of former CM NT Ramarao, Chandrababu took over the reigns of TDP and Daggubati differed with Naidu. This led to political rivalry as well as feud between the duo and their families.
30 years later, Chandrababu and Daggubati have ended their enmity in a very matured manner. They shared the stage together and also expressed that the past was over. The occasion was the launch of Daggubati Venkateswara Rao’s book, World History, held at GITAM University in Visakhapatnam. Chandrababu attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, Daggubati said, “You all know that we had differed. That’s past and that was over. I laud him for all his efforts and wishing him best in his endeavours. I decided to not to keep any egos or enmity.” As soon as Daggubati concluded his speech, it was CM Chandrababu Naidu who pulled him, hugged him and pat his back. Naidu appreciated Daggubati for burying the hatchet. Naidu offered olive branch and ended the decade-long-quarrel. Thus two seasoned leaders ended their fight in a very matured, happy manner.
It can be noted that Chandrababu and Daggubati worked together during the initial days of TDP in 1980s. Both played crucial roles. However, both of them successfully handled 1984’s August crisis in TDP – Nadendla Bhaskara Rao’s coup.
All this while, Chandrababu rose within TDP whereas Daggubati took a back seat. Differences surfaced following internal rebellion against NTR where Chandrababu became the CM in 1995. Daggubati had been sidelined.
Despite family differences, Daggubati’s wife Purandeswari maintained cordial relationship among Nandamuri sisters and close enough to attend their family events. However, Daggubati remained distant from Chandrababu. In fact, Daggubati joined YS Jagan’s YSRCP to take on CBN. But Daggubati became unsuccessful. Ending decade-long fight, finally, Daggubati has joined hands with Chandrababu now. Overall it is a matured and happy ending. TDP fans are hailing this development.
