Hindi Language Row: Babu Backs Kalyan In Assembly

For the last few weeks, there has been a national debate about the Tamil Nadu government opposing the Hindi language and arguing they wouldn’t incorporate it into their educational curriculum. They have been exhibiting overwhelming opposition to Hindi.

In this context, Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan gave raise to a “language row” as he called out the Tamil folk for opposing Hindi. He asked why they’re so fundamentally against Hindi language while they’re happily releasing their films in Hindi and getting revenues. Tamil folk called out Pawan Kalyan for this and commented against him.

Today, in another new addition to this narrative, chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu himself commented on this matter, and he had a very soft and mature take on the same.

“Language is something that is not to be hated. Hindi language is just a medium to communicate and build a livelihood when necessary. Telugu will remain to be our home language, while Hindi will be seen as national language and English is obviously the international language. There is nothing wrong in learning a new language as it could only go on to help us in the future.” Babu said.

Babu said there might even be the need to learn foreign languages in India, considering the fact that the current generation of students are more inclined in travelling abroad for higher studies. So, primary studies in other languages will help them pursue higher studies in other countries with ease.

Babu categorically backed the earlier statement made by Kalyan while maturely, explaining the boons that come with it. He made a point that can’t be contradicted as he didn’t impose any language on anyone but strategically explained the benefits of the same.
