Rare Sight! KTR Approves Revanth’s Statement

Generally, Telangana chief minister, Revanth Reddy and BRS working president, KTR find themselves at crossroads on virtually every public policy making decision and also at a political level. However, the two of them came together for the JAC meeting that was called by Tamil Nadu CM Stalin on the delimitation issue.

My address, addressing the media after this crucial meeting in Chennai today, Revanth Reddy said the central government must mandatorily give 33% representation to the South Indian states in the case of delimitation. He had a strong statement against potentially decremental approach for South Indian states with regard to the new delimitation policy which is constituted of population index.

When asked to comment on this KTR readily approved the Telangana chief minister’s earlier statement.

“As pointed out by the Telangana, chief minister South Indian states must have significant representation in the Parliament. Our states contribute 36% to the country’s economy, and it is only logical and credible that we are given as much representation. If we are fiscally contributing 36% onto the GDP, then what’s the issue in giving us 36% representation in the parliament.” KTR stated.

Not often do we see Revanth Reddy and KTR on the same page and the rare sight was observed at the delimitation meeting today. It is good that the two arch rivals have come together for a good collective cause and rightly so as well.
