The stage is firmly set for the assumption of the Amaravati capital project and the inauguration ceremony for Amaravati 2.0 is scheduled to take place on May 2. The Andhra Pradesh government has invited Prime Minister Modi for this ceremony and he is scheduled to take part in the same.
Interestingly, enough urban development minister Narayana revealed that this is going to be a rounded event and a generic one.
“It isn’t just about the Prime Minister or the Cabinet ministers. Even the people who were an opposition leader positions between 2014 to 2019 will be invited for the inauguration ceremony. We will personally go and invite them” Narayana stated.
Though Narayana did not necessarily name, Jagan, it is easy to understand and connect the dots as Jagan was the one who was the opposition leader in the mentioned term. He might not have the opposition leader status today due to the diabolical Assembly election results. But going by the statement from the urban development minister, Jagan is also likely to receive an invitation.
It can be noted that Jagan did not accept the invitation in 2015 itself and stood away from the inauguration ceremony. And now after the kind of destruction that happened in Amravati between 2019 to 2024, under Jagan regime, even expecting him to attend the 2.0 inauguration ceremony would be out of the equation.
Another political observer pointed out that Jagan is not even interested in coming to the Assembly sessions, let alone Amaravati relaunch project.
