Donald Trump is one of the most asserting and outspoken global leaders and he often makes the most interesting of comments on the contemporary and conventional topics. Now, he has commented about the recent Pahalgam terror accident and he was fairly diplomatic with the same.
Donald Trump said he is very close to both India and Pakistan, which suggests he doesn’t want to take sides. “I am very close to India and I’m very close to Pakistan, and they’ve had that fight for a thousand years in Kashmir. Kashmir has been going on for a thousand years, probably longer than that. That was a bad one (terrorist attack). There have been tensions on that border for 1,500 years.
It’s been the same, but I am sure they’ll figure it out one way or the other. I know both leaders. There’s great tension between Pakistan and India, but there always has been.” Trump stated.
The conventional global opinion is that the United States is more aligned with India than Pakistan, which is generally considered as a terrorist hub. However, Trump has revealed that he has no favourites here and he is very close to both countries.
Another interesting point here is that netizens are confused about this statement from trump about the timeline of the fight. Well, primarily speaking, India and Pakistan were together till 1947. So, let alone a 1000 years(according to trump), the feuds about Kashmir aren’t even a 100 years old. People are commenting that Trump has little comprehension about what he’s talking and is simply making wild comments on this matter.
