Proven Again! BJP Honours Grassroots Level Leaders

One of the principal reasons behind the sustained survival of national parties is their respect and reward system for senior leaders and loyalists. This is particularly prevalent in the case of age old parties like Congress and BJP.

In the case of Andhra Pradesh, BJP, this is getting established again if we look at the party’s official candidate for the Rajya Sabha nomination.

Incidentally, when it was first announced that the Rajya Sabha election for the seat that was vacated by YCP’s Vijaya Sai Reddy would be coming up, everyone thought there would be intense competition. 

It was a speculated that either BJP Tamil Nadu Senior leader, Annamalai or Telugu states Madiga leader Mandakrishna would be the top favourites to bag the post. But the latest communication from Andhra Pradesh BJP is that a root-level leader named Paka Sathyanarayana has been finalized for this position. 

The BJP Senior leader is likely to file his nomination tomorrow, and his election is a formality considering the strength of NDA alliance. 

This isn’t the first time that BJP honoured its group of loyalists either. This was recently established in the case of Narsapuram MP ticket allocation as well. 

While a fundamental is strong and financially stable Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was in serious contention for this Narsapuram seat, the BJP persisted with its loyalist Srinivasa Varma. In the end, this gamble paid off, and Varma ended up winning the seat but this was a risky shot taken by BJP under extreme pressure from RRR and also TDP leadership.  

It can be fundamentally noted that the BJP is always looking to strengthen its loyalist group through a strong rewarding system like the one mentioned above.
