India is currently observing one of its most sensitive and volatile situation in recent years after the retaliating Operation Sindoor which avenges the recent Pahalgam attack. While the prevailing situation at the border is on one hand, the kind of discourse that is being set on social media is a completely different story altogether.
While speaking with the media on this topic today, Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan issued a strong warning to celebrities and social media influencers.
Kalyan noted that this is a time of sensitivity and caution. “During these testing hours, celebrities and influencers are to exercise caution. Celebrities are not the ones who run the country, and it is instead political leaders with integrity and determination. So at any given point in time, if celebrities and influencers cross the line and share an international posts, there will be serious consequences.”
Kalyan rightly encouraged celebrities, and influencers who are sharing nationalistic views and appreciating the Indian Army. But at the same time, he pointed out that the celebrities who share their individual opinions against the interests of the nation will have to face serious consequences and possible arrests as well.
Kalyan asked these social media handles not to bark like dogs while the country observes such a tense situation. The deputy chief minister had a pretty strong choice of words while addressing the crucial topic.
