Sabari Struggling with Galli Politics

Sabari Byreddy is not new to politics, but her journey has never been smooth. She entered politics quietly during the Telangana statehood movement, when her father Baireddy Rajasekhar Reddy launched a new party demanding either a united Andhra Pradesh or merging Kurnool with Telangana. During that time, he was arrested, and Sabari stepped into the public space for the first time.

Later, she joined the BJP and remained active in the party for several years. Just before the last elections, in a surprising move, she switched to the TDP and secured the MP ticket from Nandyal. Since then, her political graph has changed. As a MP, she earned a good reputation and managed to build connections with key national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers.

However, things have not been easy within her own party. There have been internal rifts and reports suggest that some local leaders tried to block her victory even during the last elections. Because of this, she has stayed away from certain leaders and expressed strong displeasure over their actions.

The tension between her and some local MLAs has only grown over time. On the surface, things appear friendly, but behind the scenes, there is serious friction. This political divide has created a complicated atmosphere in the Nandyal region.

The recent “Suparipalana” programme brought some of these issues to light. Some people who supported Sabari financially during elections now feel ignored. Many of them have moved closer to the local MLAs and are reportedly working against her. Despite these challenges, Sabari is not backing down. She seems determined to face the issues head-on rather than avoid them.
