Former Uniter Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy is reportedly preparing to visit Delhi soon, possibly today or tomorrow. His goal is to seek clarity from the BJP high command about his future role in politics.
Kiran has been facing political uncertainty for over a decade now. Since serving as the last Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, he has switched parties, floated his own, and even returned to Congress before finally joining BJP. Despite these moves, he has not secured any significant political post in recent years.
Although he contested the last election from Rajampet as an MP candidate with alliance support, he lost. At one point, there were rumors that he would become the BJP state president in Andhra Pradesh, but that didn’t materialize either. He had also expressed hope of getting a key position like a Governor post, but that too hasn’t come through.
Even a possible Rajya Sabha seat now seems unlikely, as recent nominations have already been filled. With limited options left, Kiran is now said to be heading to Delhi to directly speak to BJP’s top leaders and press for clarity regarding his political path ahead.
With BJP’s national leadership currently making key organizational changes, sources believe Kiran may also be hoping for a role at the national level. What comes out of his Delhi visit remains to be seen.
