One of the many reasons for the outright public rejection of the YCP government was the careless and reckless approach taken towards roadways and highways. The vast majority of the roadway conditions in Andhra Pradesh were absolutely preposterous between 2019 to 2024.
Immediately after the onset of the NDA government, certain measures were taken to enhance the roads across the state. This was achieved to a considerable degree as the majority of the town and city roads along with the rural pockets were relaid.
And now with the monsoon season nearing its completion, we are hearing that the government of Andhra Pradesh under CM Babu’s leadership had principally decided to enhance the roadway conditions.
Reportedly the government is looking to allocate ₹1000 crore towards road repairs and related activities. This mega project could cover around 2000 kms of roadways in Andhra Pradesh and will be one of the biggest roadway projects in recent years.
On top of that, it is reported that another ₹500 crores will be allocated towards enhancement of the highway roads across the state.
While the previous YCP government saw roadway contracts as a waste of money and didn’t even clear many of the pending bills done by the contractors, Babu has set focus on this matter in yearly basis. He appears to be leaving no stone unturned to make sure that NDA government deliver the best possible roadway project to the public which is the point of difference here.
