In place of CM Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Nara Lokesh will be taking charge at the Centre. He has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring that MPs from Andhra Pradesh vote for NDA candidate C P Radhakrishnan in the Vice President election scheduled for Tuesday. Acting on Chandrababu’s instructions, Lokesh will leave for Delhi on Monday.
On Monday evening, Lokesh will meet TDP and Janasena MPs in Delhi. He will guide them closely to ensure they cast their votes for the NDA candidate and also provide training on the voting procedure. Since the Vice President election follows a different process, Lokesh will personally explain the method to the MPs and make sure they are well prepared. Along with these activities, he is also expected to meet senior BJP leaders and discuss issues related to Andhra Pradesh with Union Ministers. He will stay overnight in Delhi and monitor the election process from Tuesday morning.
Chandrababu was initially expected to go to Delhi himself. However, as he has to attend the “Super Six – Super Hit” program in Anantapur on Wednesday, he decided to send Lokesh in his place.
