Undavalli Arun Kumar is one of the well-regarded political intellectuals in Andhra Pradesh, known for occasionally breaking his silence on AP politics. He did the same today, speaking elaborately about the prevailing political situation.
In this context, Undavalli questioned Jagan Mohan Reddy for supporting the NDA candidate in the Vice Presidential election while ignoring a worthy individual like Sudershan Reddy, who is contesting as the INDIA bloc candidate.
“I still don’t understand the logic behind Jagan supporting the NDA candidate for the upcoming Vice Presidential election. Did Jagan forget the fact that he contested against this very same NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh? How can he support the very alliance candidate that he fought against in 2014 and 2019?” Undavalli asked.
The senior political observer pointed out that while Jagan might have hard feelings toward the Congress party, that should not affect Sudershan Reddy, as he does not belong to any party and is contesting with the sole objective of protecting the Constitution.
“If Jagan cannot play the role of the opposition by supporting the minority candidate, how does he intend to wage a battle against the ruling alliance? Isn’t he indirectly indicating that he supports the NDA alliance at every level, despite losing to them recently?” Undavalli said.
It must be noted that the political observer raised several valid points, and it remains to be seen if the YSR Congress Party will respond. This is, after all, a burning question that the people of Andhra Pradesh are also beginning to ask.
