The unrest in Nepal has left many Telugu people stranded, but the Andhra Pradesh government has moved swiftly to safeguard them. Minister for Real Time Governance, Nara Lokesh, has taken direct control of the rescue efforts, proving once again that wherever crises strike in the world, AP reacts first for its people.
Early this morning, Lokesh reached the Real Time Governance (RTG) Center at the Secretariat and set up a special war room to coordinate operations. He instructed senior officials to immediately report to the RTG Center and monitor the situation round-the-clock. A dedicated call center and WhatsApp helpline have also been launched to assist families and stranded citizens.
So far, reports confirm that 215 Telugu people are stuck in Nepal, including several pilgrims in Muktinath. Lokesh held a review meeting, spoke directly with some of those stranded through video calls, and assured them that all possible support is being extended. He also ordered that updates on their safety must be collected every two hours.
The minister made it clear that the Andhra Pradesh government, with full support from the Centre, will ensure the safe return of every Telugu citizen.
