‘You Call Pulivendula MLA, We Call Kuppam MLA’

YCP leader and MLC Botcha Satyanarayana made a fiery remark in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly that has set off a fresh round of political debate.

Responding to opposition criticism, Botcha said, “వారు ఎంతకాలం జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి గారిని పులివెందుల ఎమ్మెల్యే అంటారో… అంతకాలం మేము చంద్రబాబు గారిని ఆనాటి కుప్పం ఎమ్మెల్యే అని అంటాం.” (“For as long as they call Jagan Mohan Reddy the Pulivendula MLA, we will call Chandrababu Naidu the former Kuppam MLA.”)

This was a direct counter to TDP leaders, who often address Jagan only by his constituency name since YCP failed to secure even opposition status in the Assembly. After winning just 11 seats in the last elections, Jagan’s party lost the position of main opposition, and TDP MLAs have been mocking him as just the Pulivendula MLA.

The video of Botcha’s statement quickly went viral. YCP supporters appreciated his punch, while TDP sympathizers dismissed it as petty politics.
