Govt Is Open For Discussion, Don’t Interrupt Classes: Lokesh

Educational Institutions and places of study must always be kept away from politics. The same was implied by IT minister Nara Lokesh as he appeared to lecture protesting students at Andhra University after the death of a student named Manikanta.

Incidentally, a student named Manikanta sadly died at the famous AU campus after suffering seizures. He was rushed to the hospital in the ambulance but this wasn’t fruitful as he was pronounced dead. This then led to violent protests inside the campus as the students alleged that there’s foul play in this death.

This topic came to discussion in the Assembly yesterday and IT minister Lokesh was very serious about the same.

“What happened was very unfortunate. Losing a student on campus pains us all. But that doesn’t give the students the right to protest violently. Attacking the vice chancellor office and creating error in the campus doesn’t solve anything. The government itself is open to discussion and we are ready to listen to the students.” Lokesh pointed out.

Lokesh pointed out that the NDA government is open for discussion unlike the previous Jagan government which was rampant and assertive. He said every measure will be taken to ensure the best possible outcome for the students.

“If these violent protests don’t stop in the AU campus, we will take strict action and that’s for sure. There’s no place for politics in educational institutions and we are warning the student unions to stay away from this mess.” Lokesh said.
