Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held another review from the RTGS Center on the Montha Cyclone situation. Ministers Lokesh and Anitha, along with RTGS officials, joined the meeting.
The CM directed teams to ensure continuous relief efforts, supply food and water to stranded travelers, and use Kisan drones to deliver medicines in affected areas. Every vehicle and rescue machine is being live-tracked from the RTGS center as officials work tirelessly to manage the cyclone’s impact.
Officials reported that Nellore district received the highest rainfall so far, while Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Anakapalli also witnessed heavy showers in the last few hours. The cyclone is currently centered about 150 km off Kakinada’s coast and is expected to make landfall around 11:30 PM tonight.
With intense rains predicted from 9 PM till early morning, the government has imposed travel restrictions in coastal areas and set up 3,000 generators at village and ward secretariats to ensure uninterrupted services.
