Babu has launched a new scheme called “Rythanna – Meekosam Vaarotsavaalu”, aiming to transform and change the state’s farming system right from the ground level. This programme is built on a clear plan to improve farming, farmer incomes and village-level agricultural services by reaching every household across the state.
What makes this special is that it is not just another scheme. It is a house-to-house programme, where teams from the Rythu Seva Kendrams (RSKs) will personally visit every farmer family in the village. They will talk to farmers, collect information, share booklets on new government programmes and schemes, explain modern farming methods and provide guidance to them on using the APAIMS app for official services.
Thus, not just making the government services within the reach of the farmers by physically coming and collecting them but also all their data is very clearly and well stored in digital data making it easy for the farmers in future to get quick reimbursements for crop losses due to cyclones or any natural disaster within quick time. This creates a direct connection between the government and farmers something that did not happen earlier at this scale where everything was controlled from these RBKs which were directly controlled by the button from the Tadepalli camp office.
The programme would support farmers on five aspects that are : Water security, demand-driven agriculture, agritech, food processing and strong government support for their services. These ideas show CBN is putting a lot of effort to modernise agriculture and make farming more accessible. These actions were in fact relevant during Cyclone Montha’s time where the farmers received the compensations within a week’s time.
During Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government, RBKs were created as local service centres, and they in fact played an important role in e-crop booking and input distribution. But the system mostly made the services not easily accessible to farmers as they had to visit the centre to get any work done.
Now CBN’s new programme flips this model where the government goes to the farmer’s doorstep. In addition, a new “cluster” system where every three households are treated as one planning unit. This allows better data, better planning, and more targeted help.
Overall, this scheme shows that Babu takes a step ahead to take the RBK system forward to modernise the state’s agriculture sector.
