TDP leader and Minister Nara Lokesh has taken serious note of the non performance of several MLAs. After reviewing recent party activities, Lokesh directed the state leadership to seek detailed reports from 23 MLAs who have been inactive for the last three months.
The issue came to focus after CM Chandrababu Naidu personally instructed all MLAs and ministers to participate in the pension distribution program on the 1st of this month and the Raitanna Meekosam initiative launched shortly after. Despite this, 45 MLAs skipped both events.
Lokesh conducted a review and found that out of these 45 MLAs, 23 had not attended a single party program in the last three months. He immediately ordered that their activity reports be collected and submitted without delay.
For months, Lokesh has been urging MLAs to actively take part in party programs and explain government welfare schemes to the public. Even as the Chief Minister has been pushing them, Lokesh has been monitoring their ground performance closely. Senior leaders recently informed him that some MLAs are still showing no improvement, which further irritated Lokesh.
He also expressed displeasure over another issue. The party has been providing insurance benefits to families of deceased party workers. Lokesh had clearly instructed MLAs to personally meet these families and hand over the compensation. However, nearly 75 to 80 families are yet to receive the amount, with files stuck in MLA offices.
Lokesh warned that immediate reports must be submitted and made it clear that action will follow if there is no response.
