Is Former PM Imran Khan Really Alive? Sister Responds

From the past few days, several social media handles have been speculating about the deteriorating health condition of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and renowned cricket player Imran Khan. Many of his supporters and close family members raised suspicion about his whereabouts and even claimed that he might have been killed inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. This rumour mongering led to widespread protests in Pakistan by his followers. 

Amid the escalating tensions, the government has allowed Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan to meet the jailed leader on Tuesday evening. She was the only person to meet Imran Khan from outside after many weeks. He was incarcerated in connection with corruption charges. After coming out of jail, Uzma Khan put an end to the death rumours. 

She announced that Imran Khan is alive and appears healthy. She claimed that Imran was kept in solitary confinement and was mentally tortured. The cricketer turned politician was reportedly angry with Asim Munir, who is the Army Chief of Pakistan. The meeting between Imran and his sister lasted for 20 minutes. She came out and met reporters outside the jail to convey the message about Imran’s condition. 

Imran Khan was arrested by Lahore police in 2023 and has been sentenced to 14 years prison over several cases. He was the founder of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf party.
