AP Govt In Top Gear With Google, Cognizant & TCS

The AP government is moving fast to turn Vizag into a major global centre for artificial intelligence and cloud technology. In October 2025, the state approved a huge AI-based data centre project led by Raiden Infotech, a Google entity, with an investment of about USD 15 billion over the coming years. This project plans to build nearly 1 GW of data-centre capacity across Anakapalli and Vizag districts.

Around 400 acres of land have been set aside, making Vizag the heart of Google’s first AI hub in India and one of its biggest campuses outside the US. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has been asked to identify and provide suitable land for this project.

To support the development, the government has allocated close to 480 acres at important locations such as Adavivaram, Mudasarlova, Tarluvada, and Rambilli. These areas will also house supporting facilities like a cable-landing station and power systems. A government order clearly lists the responsibilities of agencies like APIIC, district collectors, and the ITE&C Department.

Their tasks include surveying the land, marking boundaries, and handing it over to the company, all within specific timelines. Under the state’s Data Centre Policy 2024–29, incentives worth nearly ₹22,000 crore are being offered to promote jobs and attract investment in cloud, networking, and AI services.

TCS is also getting ready to start its Vizag operations. As mentioned in the report, the company has completed construction on a 21.76-acre campus with two office blocks that can seat nearly 1,500 employees. Officials say TCS may begin operations within the next two weeks.

The State NDA government is also pushing rapid on-ground work. Local reports show that near the Kommadi–Madhurawada belt in Vizag, Cognizant is being offered about 22 acres at 99 paise per acre of which government land has already been identified and prepared for the data-centre project. There are also discussions about holding a bhoomi puja to begin construction soon. Once completed, this project alone is expected to bring in an investment of ₹1,583 crore to the region, which creates about 800 direct jobs, and increases demand for services like housing and transport.

With Google, TCS, and Cognizant all setting up strong bases in Vizag, the city is quickly turning into a major centre for IT and AI growth. These developments as a collective show how the Naidu government is working at high speed to secure land and build a strong data-centre ecosystem in Vizag and across the state. With this level of planning and action, Vizag is well-placed to become a major AI and data-infrastructure hub in India and South Asia.
