The government of Telangana led by chief minister Revanth Reddy is currently holding an ambitious project in the name of Telangana Rising Summit which got underway today. Several dignitaries and politicians from across the country are invited for this mega conclave and so was neighbouring state Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Siva Kumar.
However, the speech that Siva Kumar delivered at the conclave in Hyderabad, today has drawn polar reactions on social media.
While addressing the summit, Siva Kumar said “I know Telangana is a smaller state, not as big as Karnataka. Our IT exports are 43% of India’s total, while Telangana’s might be slightly less. But the vision of the Telangana government to enhance the IT exports is good and needs to be supported.”
It was all fine till the deputy chief minister spoke highly of Telangana, but the reference to Bengaluru and Karnataka is drawing mixed reactions from social media users. People are questioning the need for the deputy CM to put up Bengaluru’s numbers while speaking at a summit in Hyderabad.
Considering that Siva Kumar himself is also a Congress senior leader, more collective approach is expected of him at a global summit that’s being held by another congress government in a neighbouring state, commented a Twitter user.
