In a major development move for Amravati, the state government has officially approved a massive ₹7,387.70 crore loan for APCRDA from NABARD to speed up infrastructure works in the Amaravati Capital Region. It is quite impressive how quickly the entire process moved, from proposal to approval to agreement signing which was just announced a week ago or so.
According to the G.O issued on 11 December 2025, the APCRDA Commissioner submitted the proposal on 5 December 2025. Within just a few days, the Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department examined it, the Finance Department gave its concurrence on 10 December, and the government issued the final green signal on 11 December with issuing a G.O in this regard.
The loan comes under NABARD’s NIDA (Infrastructure Development Assistance) Scheme and will be used for key infrastructure projects in the Amaravati Capital Region. The government has also agreed to provide a State Guarantee and pay a 5% guarantee fee, ensuring smooth approval and quick disbursement.
Another highlight is that APCRDA on behalf of the government has been given full power to sign the loan agreement immediately, coordinate with NABARD and start taking all necessary actions. This kind of a swift quick administrative movement that can be viewed as a big positive sign that will improve its functions and decentralise the governance too.
For citizens watching the capital’s progress closely, this quick sanction feels like a long-awaited push. If the funds are utilized efficiently, Amaravati could soon see visible improvements in core infrastructure like roads, utilities and public services.
Overall, the government’s fast-track approach and NABARD’s support have brought a fresh wave of optimism for the future of Andhra Pradesh’s capital region.
