Strong Pollution Control Measures Boost Air Quality in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, one of AP’s most important coastal cities, has been facing growing concerns about air pollution over the past few years. The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has recently taken a series of strict actions aimed at improving the city’s air quality and holding polluters accountable.

According to the latest updates, these efforts have already started to show positive results, with air quality levels improving noticeably across several parts of city.

As part of its pollution-control measures, the APPCB has issued official notices to several major industries in the city. These industries were found to be violating environmental norms or contributing significantly to pollution levels.

The board made it clear that such companies may have to pay compensation ranging from ₹2 crore to ₹3 crore each, depending on the extent of their violations. This step signals a stronger, more uncompromising approach towards industrial pollution.

Pollution caused by vehicles has also been addressed. Vehicles that were found releasing excessive emissions were fined a total of ₹7.45 lakh. Clean air depends on both responsible industrial practices and disciplined vehicle maintenance, and the board’s actions reflect that balanced approach.

Public figures and citizens have been taking note of these developments, with some expressing support on social media. The growing awareness and attention show that the issue of pollution is no longer being ignored, and people expect accountability and action.

With consistent effort, the city can set a strong example for urban environmental management across the state. Continued monitoring, strict enforcement, and public cooperation will be essential to sustain these improvements.
