The polling for GHMC elections has just concluded and once again the Hyderabadis disappointed by turning out in low numbers for the voting. As of 5 PM, the polling percentage as per the State Election Commission is just 35.80 and by the end of the polling time, it could be just above. This means Hyderabad has voted low compared to the 2016 polls.
At many places, the polling percentage did not even cross 20 percent while at very few places, the polling percentage reported above 60 percent. Amidst the low turnouts, a picture of the polling staff is going viral. Well with no people for voting, the staff were seen taking a nap by keeping their heads on the table.
This picture took the internet by storm but no one has any clue about the location of polling booth while people are slamming the youth of Hyderabad for not exercising their right to vote. The media too criticized the people of twin cities and added people rush to parties and events but when it comes to elections, they are least bothered.
