Tamil Nadu politics took an interesting discourse after the unfortunate Karur incident. On one hand, Vijay is facing investigative pressure from the CBI, and the other, Congress has been arguing that the BJP is abusing central power to strongarm Vijay and make him lean towards the NDA alliance.
Incidentally, it must be noted that Vijay attended the CBI investigation today, January 19, for the second time in the last couple of weeks. He was once again questioned by CBI officials in connection with the stampede incident, as investigators sought to extract certain crucial details from him.
In this context, the latest reports from national media channels are indicating that Vijay could be named as one of the accused in the upcoming chargesheet that the CBI is likely to file in the second week of February.
Considering the fact that the CBI had already investigated Vijay twice in this case, the latest reports from national media about his possible inclusion in the chargesheet is to be noted.
It is being reported that Vijay could be facing charges of culpable homicide in this case which is a significant charge with legal consequences.
The CBI is primarily focusing on crucial topics like why Vijay arrived 7 hours late to the venue and also his moral actions to dissipate the uncontrollable crowds that had gathered. Also, the CBI reportedly asked Vijay why he left to Chennai immediately after the incident rather than standing accountable.
