Karnataka top cop’s Alleged video scandal : CM orders probe

A DGP rank officer from Karnataka state has left the entire police department in deep embarassment after a purported video reportedly featuring him in compromising acts with multiple women in his office while in uniform surfaced online. This unsavoury video has been trending on social media platforms since today afternoon after it was leaked by unknown sources.

Going into the details, Director General of Police R Ramachandra Rao, who is currently heading the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement in Karnataka, was caught on camera while indulging in intimate episodes with several women inside his office. He is the stepfather of actress Ranya Rao who was arrested in March last year for smuggling gold from Dubai.

As soon as the video went viral, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah immediately responded and ordered a detailed probe into the scandal. He warned of stringent action against the top cop if proven guilty. He said the matter will be investigated and a disciplinary action will be taken at the earliest no matter whoever is involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, R Ramachandra Rao tried to meet Home Minister at the latter’s residence. However, he was denied appointment by the Home Minister. Speaking to the media outside the residence, Rao claimed that the video was fabricated and false. He said he will take a legal action against those who are trying to tarnish his image by spreading fake videos.

Rao was a native of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. He is due for retirement in July this year. After stepdaughter Ranya Rao was arrested in March last year, Ramachandra Rao was suspended from duty. He was later reinstated back in August.
