‘Police Received Multiple Phone Calls During the Investigation’

A pretty significant development with regard to Telangana politics happened yesterday as the Hyderabad police investigated former minister and BRS firebrand Harish Rao in connection with the phone tapping case.

Shortly after the investigation, Harish Rao, who was grilled by the police for several hours came out and stated that he isn’t bothered about this investigation stuff. He commented that he himself asked the police more questions, then what they had asked him.

“The police kept receiving many phone calls during the investigation and kept asking the same question again and again. I am not bothered about their investigation and I never will. They can happily go and ask the then DGP and intelligence, chief, if they have questions on phone tapping. I have nothing to do with any of this.” Harish stayed.

In response to this, the police department issued Media communication and they stated Harish Rao, former Minister and MLA, Siddipet was summoned before the Investigation Officer at Jubilee Hills Police Station on January 20, 2026, and examined in detail.

He was allowed to leave early due to his son’s scheduled flight later in the evening. Considering the request, the SIT concluded the examination for the day. He was clearly instructed not to contact, influence, or interfere with any witnesses connected with the investigation and was informed that he may be summoned again for further examination, if required.
