Big Breaking: Trump Lowers Tariffs on India from 25% to 18%

US President Trump announced on Truth Social that he had a productive phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him “one of my greatest friends.” Trump said Modi agreed to stop buying Russian oil and boost purchases of US products, including energy, technology and agricultural goods, as part of a new trade deal.

Trump also said the United States will immediately reduce reciprocal tariffs on India from 25% to 18%, while India plans to cut its tariffs and non-tariff barriers on US goods to zero. He claimed the deal will strengthen bilateral ties and help efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
