Telugu state politics are becoming more and more expensive with every passing day and things are starting to take a wild turn now. The same is to be understood if we look at the latest media reports regarding the municipal election, which is scheduled to be held on February 11 in Telangana.
While the election fever has already caught up and all the leading parties are going all the way to win big in the municipal election, it is being reported that monetary aspect of the election is taking full flight.
In this context, the latest development are suggesting that certain candidates in municipal belts across Karimnagar are going all out to secure the election.
Apparently, a few candidates in the region are offering ₹10,000 per vote and even offering a 25 kg rice bag per family. On top of that, certain candidates are reportedly going further and offering given ₹5000 per female voter along with a silver ornament and Saree.
While there is an active emphasis against monetary gains for votes and the extensive usage of commodities in the election, such luring activities are still a part of Telugu electioneering to this day. It is sad to see the situation but as detrimental as it may be, that’s the ground reality these days.
