The custodial torture of former MP and sitting MLA from Undi constituency, Raghurama Krishna Raju is one of the most controversial incident in recent years in Andhra Pradesh politics. He was allegedly tortured in police custody during the YCP tenure and this became a sensation back in the day.
And now, finally, there’s significant progress that’s being achieved in this custodial torture case as the authorities have started to crack down on the culprits associated with the same.
Yesterday, it was publicly communicated that suspended IPS officer Sunil Kumar will have to serve a further elongated suspension that has been extended till June 30. And now there is another piece of significant development in this regard.
Going into the story, Andhra Pradesh Police have reportedly arrested IPS officer Sunil Naik in connection with the alleged custodial torture case of Deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishna Raju earlier today.
On one hand, the former CID chief is having elongated suspension and on the other, an IPS officer has now been arrested which signals a swift movement on the legalities of this case. Further inroads are expected to be made soon as Raghurama is not the kind of person who would back down from taking on his detractors.
