Being the largest democratic nation in the world, India has some of the largest and financially affluent political parties in the vicinity. This is on display if we look at the income reports of leading parties like BJP and Congress.
According to the latest data published by Association for Democratic Reforms, the leading parties in India(national parties) have collectively reported ₹7960 crore in income.
The richest party in terms of income is obviously the ruling BJP, which reported ₹6769 crore revenue in 2024-25. This is followed by Congress, which has significantly lesser income when compared to BJP.
The Congress party reported a revenue of ₹918 crore. This is nowhere close to the revenue reported by the BJP and demonstrates the fact that BJP is almost 7 times powerful as the Congress in terms of revenue.
The CPM reported revenue of ₹172 crore which is a surprisingly big number as well. The weakest party on the list if we consider the mainstream names is the Aam Admi party, which has just 39 crore in revenue.
The fact that BJP alone accounts for 85% of the revenue for all the national parties combined shows the kind of resurgence of this saffron brigade in Indian politics.
