In less than two weeks, another fire accident occured in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. During the midnight of Monday, a massive inferno broke out at the Head of the Department ( HOD) Tower in Rayanapudi area , which is a part of the Capital Development Region of Amaravati.
The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained but preliminary investigation revealed that an intense blaze erupted from the location where a huge dump of PVC pipes of Megha Engineering Company was stored. This raw material is supposed to be used for the ongoing development works to provide amenities for new buildings in the capital region.
No casualties reportedly took place but several firefighting vehicles reached the spot immediately to bring the blaze under control. After several hours of operation, the fire has finally been extinguished. Significant damage to the stored equipment is said to have happened to the infrastructure of HOD Tower.
As soon as the news came out, authorities rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. The matter was immediately brought to the notice of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who ordered a high level probe into the incident.
On March 11, a similar fire broke out at the Seed Access Road of capital region during which PVC pipes belonging to L & T company were gutted and reduced to ashes. An enquiry was immediately sought by Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha to find whether it was an accident or an deliberate attempt by miscreants.
With back to back fire accidents in the capital city, conspiracy cannot be ruled out completely given that both of them took place close to Amaravati, which is the ambitious project of the current government led by NDA coalition.
