One of the most crucial development with regard to the future of Andhra Pradesh unfolded in the Indian Parliament today as the Amaravati resolution was brought to discussion in the house a short while ago.
While the NDA representatives presented the Amaravati bill in a formidable manner by calling the lifeline for Andhra Pradesh, the opposition YSR Congress MPs did something detrimental.
TDP MP and union minister Pemmasani Chandrashekhar spoke very highly of Amaravati and said this region is a representation of the centuries long legacy of great dynasts and civilisation in itself.
Other NDA MPs including BJP’s CM Ramesh also joined in and said the chameleon actions of YS Jagan will no longer be relevant as Amaravati will continue to be the future of Andhra Pradesh.
This was followed by something very interesting by YSR Congress representatives in the Parliament as the party MP Midhun Reddy said “We are not against Amravati as a region or any other area in Andhra Pradesh for that matter. But we are against the Amaravati bill that is presented in this form today.”
Midhun Reddy asked for clear timelines and the budget expenditure for the Amaravati project and also the compensation for the farmers. “Without this crucial parameter, there is no point in bringing this bill in the Parliament today. We are outrightly opposing this bill and immediately walking out of the house.”
