Politics are very addictive in nature, and this is the reason why many people who aspire to stay away from the political scene eventually ended up getting back to it. This is to be understood in the case of Vijay Sai Reddy, who had recently announced his retirement, but is unable to stop political commentary.
Today, Sai Reddy made a big announcement as he communicated that he is going to launch a series of digital media handles in Telugu, Hindi and English.
“Very soon, we will be launching a digital media platform for news in Telugu, Hindi and English. This platform will be balanced, unbiased and committed to the truth.
Our aim is to give a voice to the people and highlight real issues that matter to the common man, women, youth, farmers, workers and the underprivileged. The platform will remain independent and will not align with any political party.” Sai Reddy posted today.
The former YCP leader gave the implication that he would launch a series of digital media handles that publicise media news and reports. He has stated that he will remain neutral and will not support any political party.
Generally, almost all the major media handles in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are affiliated to one political party or another. Perhaps this is the case across India as well. So the promise made by Sai Reddy about staying neutral is against the tide and the market norms of the industry.
The strange thing for Sai Reddy here is that he had recently departed from Jagan’s camp, and also has this historic opposition from TDP and JSP. Would this naturally mean that he could tilt towards BJP? And moreover, is there enough vacuum in the already congested Telugu Digital Media space for someone like Sai Reddy who doesn’t have strong political image despite being active for a decade?
