Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced her new party: Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS). As expected, she aims to stir Telangana sentiment by using the popular name ‘TRS’. Also, some BRS votes may shift due to confusion caused by the similar name if EC give its final nod.
In her address, Kavitha announced that she wants to become Amma for Telangana People so that she can feel their pain and suffering.
She also spoke about Free Health Care and Free Education as her party’s objectives. But for all this to happen, the TRS Party must win.
The actual question is: Is there space in Telangana’s Political Turf?
Right now, BRS and Congress are strong in the state. BRS, even though down can never be under-estimated.
BJP is certainly strong in the Urban Pockets of the state. Even though the BJP’s State Unit is inept, the party can always rise by banking on Modi’s popularity.
The question is if there is space for another party in Telangana.
The Success of the TRS Party will depend on the BRS Party. It will all boil down to whether TRS can eat into the votes of the BRS. That is why Kavitha is repeatedly targeting the BRS Party and its Top Leadership.
Some people may rubbish Kavitha’s prospects like Sharmila’s but then, unlike Sharmila, Kavitha is a seasoned politician and has vast experience gained during the Agitation Days. She is also a good orator.
So, she will use all that to attract the people and capture the media space.
She is also on the ground and fighting for public causes unlike Sharmila who only focused on fighting Jagan Mohan Reddy.
