Why Nellore Is Perfect For TDP’s Mahanadu?

Telugu Desam Party earlier planned its Annual Mahanadu in Uttarandhra region but now shifted it to Nellore district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Uttarandhra in June/July for the inauguration of Bhogapuram Airport. So, TDP leadership thought it is unwise to have two Mega events in an area in a very short period of time.

Shifting to Nellore is a perfect move because Mahanadu was never held in the district since the party’s inception. Nellore is a Reddy-dominated area which was with Congress earlier and YSR Congress later. But then, TDP+ registered a clean sweep in the district in 2024 elections.

The Party High Command wants to concentrate on the district so that there will be no chance of YSR Congress recovering here.

If there is any chance of YSR Congress redeeming, it will be in Nellore only after Kadapa. So, it is important to put focus on the district.

Beedha Ravichandra is the Nellore district TDP President. He is coordinating with the two Ministers, MLAs, and MPs of the district to make the Mahanadu a grand success.

Mahanadu needs at least 200 acres of open space which is not possible in Nellore City. So they are scouting for land in Nellore Rural and Kovvur constituencies. Also, the land must be easily accessible through Transport since it will be attended by 1000s of Representatives and Lakhs of Cadres.
