Tamil Nadu witnessed one of the most phenomenal results in Indian politics in recent decades as first time contestant Thalapathy Vijay has led his TVK to a position of power. This is one of the most wildest outcomes in recent times.
But the crucial point is that there are several contributing factors to this phenomenal achievement of Vijay, apart from his own hard work and dedication.
Firstly, the DMK government, which was led by Stalin ended up crumbling under pressure despite some good work with regard to socio economic conditions and IT infrastructure.
The majority of the backlash came from corruption allegations at the lower level and countless complaints about imposition of freebie schemes. This took a toll on the state finances and did not go well with the young population in Tamil Nadu. So despite the good work of Stalin, his DMK could not sustain the election.
