The Indian political system witnessed a significant development on May 4 after the election results for 5 Indians states were announced. After the election, there has been a lot of discussion and debate happening about the appointment of the chief minister in states like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
Now the latest news is that both Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have nearly confirmed the chief ministers today.
The BJP leadership in West Bengal was very conscious about the announcement of the chief minister, considering that this is the first time that the party came to power.
In the end, they have collectively decided to appoint Suvendu Adhikari as the chief minister. He built himself a strong legacy by defeating Mamata Banerjee in the recent election and has been rewarded by the BJP now.
Coming to Tamil Nadu, Vijay has also managed to secure the alliance with the Congress and other smaller parties like CPI, CPM and VCK to take him past the 118 mark which is needed to form the government.
Finally, it is good to see to Indian states lock in on their chief ministers in such a short duration. On the other hand, it is going to be a short while before Kerala also confirm its chief minister on behalf of the UDF alliance.
