Why Did Thalapathy Vijay Miss That Golden Chance?

Earlier this month, Tamil cinema star Thalapathy Vijay created history by winning the Tamil Nadu assembly election. This is the first time in the decades that a cinema star has been able to have such a strong impact on politics and also win the government in the very first attempt.

Coming to the topic now, Vijay has done something unexpected as he missed a golden opportunity of enhancing his legacy in the neighbouring state of Kerala.

Incidentally, the UDF alliance, which is led by the Congress formed the government under chief minister VD Satheeshan today. Considering that Vijay is the neighbouring Tamil Nadu CM and he is also a part of the Congress alliance, everyone expected him to be present at the CM swearing in ceremony in Kerala.

But that simply wasn’t to be as Vijay kept himself occupied with the administrative duties at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat. This might be a strong act of sincerity towards sticking to his job as administrator of Tamil Nadu in his first few days in the position.

But another crucial point here is that Vijay is a huge star even in Kerala as his films generate massive revenues here. At a time when the TVK is expanding its operations in Kerala at the grassroot level, Vijay’s presence at the CM event in Kerala today could’ve created a resounding public impact.

There is every chance that Vijay could have drawn an even bigger roar than the Kerala chief minister himself. This would have been the driving factor for the TVK expansion in Kerala as well.

But Vijay was having none of this as he did not take any of these factors into consideration as he blatantly avoided the Kerala CM event today and stuck to his duties in Tamil Nadu.
