ED Cases: Telangana HC Gives Relief To Jagan?

The disproportionate assets cases related to YS Jagan have been in the court of law for the last decade and half but there’s no closure even to this day. But now there is a reasonable update in this regard.

The Telangana High Court has provided significant relief to Jagan in connection with the Vanpic Quid Pro Quo case.

Incidentally, a tribunal that was formulated to decide the fate of the attached properties in this case suggested the bench to release the same. This was supposed to be in favour of Jagan and other accused in this case who had their properties attached.

However, this decision was challenged by the enforcement directorate, which noted that release of these attach properties goes against prevention of money laundering.

When this matter came to discussion at the Telangana High Court, the bench ruled that the ED cannot sustain this argument as there are no new establishments to uphold the freeze of properties.

The High Court sided with the tribunal which advised the authorities to release the properties which are currently on hold. This can be considered as significant positive news to YS Jagan, Nimmagadda Prasad and others, who face serious allegations in this case.

The total value of the attached properties in this case is over ₹1400 crore and it involves Jagan and Prasad. Jagan faces allegations of misusing his political power during his father, Rajasekhar Reddy’s time to allot big parcels of land to Prasad and others.
