It was always suspected that CJP chief Abhijeet Dipke who initiated the students movement against NDA government would face the consequences at the political level. This is precisely on display now.
Going into the story, a Surat-based RTI activist on Saturday said he had sought an inquiry into the finances of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s father, a retired government employee who had funded his son’s education abroad.
“I have filed a complaint at three different locations. I have complained against CJP at ECI. Regarding the Rs 1 Crore fund by Kapil Sibal, I have complained to CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) that 18% GST be levied on it.
I have also complained to Maharashtra Govt that Bhagwanrao Dipke was a Junior Engineer at MIDC. So, if he received a salary of Rs 60,000-65,000 how was he able to afford education of his children in the US?” This RTI activist remarked on this matter.
It is evident that certain investigative action is being demanded into this matter where the financial records of Abhijeet’s father are going to come under scrutiny. It has to be seen how the family would be dealing with this situation now.
On the other hand, Abhijeet Dipke’s supporters argue that there is nothing unusual about students pursuing higher education abroad, as many Indian families rely on education loans and other legitimate financial sources to fund overseas studies.
They claim the complaints are politically motivated and are being used to mount pressure on the CJP chief following his role in leading the recent student movement against the NDA government.
