Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy has been very particular about the next expansion of the Hyderabad Metro, and he had been consulting with the central government on this big project.
The initiation process for the next phase of the Hyderabad Metro extension got consolidated when Revanth Reddy met representatives of the central government recently and elaborated the idea.
The central government was fairly elected about this project for the opening stage itself, and they carried on this stance again.
After Revanth was able to successfully secure a financing deal from a Japanese company amounting to ₹13,000 crore for the acquisition phase of metro expansion, the center warned against it. They instructed the Telangana government to secure finance for both phases of the project including the construction.
This created a new headache for the government as the original offer for the acquisition got declined by the Japanese company, and there is nothing left to be done.
The central government has also reportedly backed away from financing the project at any level, which would mean that Telangana government will have to do it by itself, which is pretty much impossible fiscally.
Despite the Best of efforts of Revanth Reddy to complete the expansion of Hyderabad Metro, things are simply not falling in place for him at the higher level.
