Reality Check: DMK To Support NDA For Delimitation Bill?

Things have been changing drastically within the Tamil Nadu political landscape with leading parties undergoing significant changes in terms of alliances and political stands.

The most significant development came in the form of DMK cutting ties with Congress, which in turn went with TVK to form the government in the state. Since then, there have been several speculations about the possibility of DMK joining in the NDA alliance.

But finally, there is an official bit of clarity on this matter, and it has come from the leader of opposition and the current commander in chief of DMK, Udhay Stalin himself.

When asked to comment on the prospect of supporting the delimitation bill presented by the central government, Udhay made a strong and reaffirming statement.

“We have been against this bill for the last one year. This new Vijay government came recently and they are speaking. But we have been fundamentally against this bill for a year and our stand won’t change.” Udhay confidently said.

This solid comment from the opposition leader is very much an indication of the fact that DMK is not leaning towards the NDA at the central level. If there was any possibility of an alliance with NDA, Uday would have been far more retrospective with his answer but that’s not to be.

This consolidated reply from the DMK youngster confirms that they are not in favour of the NDA alliance as of this moment and are firmly opposing the delimitation prospect that’s being fiercely pursued by the NDA.

It is good to see South Indian parties stick to their principles on this matter regardless of their affiliations as they are putting the interests of the state above all else.
